This livestock market has been one of the leading auction markets in SW Iowa since it was built in 1960, serving producers in SW IA, NW MO, and SE NE.

Farmers Livestock Market has averaged over 16,704 head of stockers & feeders & 8090 head of fat cattle over the past 6 years, with an average of 24,794 cattle since Mark & Amy have owned the market.

The maket is well known for its very efficient set up with several pens under roof with water & hay feeders with bunks, along with numerous outdoor steel pens with water, hay rings & 3 self feeders. Many of the steel pens & loading chute with tub built in 2003. Sale barn pen capacity - 2500 head easily.

The auction arena has a 20' x 24' ring scale which has a beam back up, and a large seating area for 500 people.

The sale is clerked with a computer auction system by Digital Development with a monitor at both the buyers & sellers window. The computer system was added in 2004 when the office was remodeled. There was a new phone system added in 2006.

Very nice cafe area. ~ There is a vet facility with a steel tub & expanding retractable alley way (new in 2004). Also a squeeze chute owened by Red Oak Vet Clinic.

Feed inventory as of ad time: 150 square bales grass hay, 500 square bales straw & 30 large bales grass hay.

Note ~ We have made this difficult decision due to other family & business obligations. Our hope is that the new buyer will continue to serve our loyal customers. Terms Of Sale ~ 15% down sale day by bankable check with buyer & seller entering into a contract, with balance due by cashiers check on or before July 27th, 2009. At that time buyer will receive possession , appropiate deed & abstract of title.
