Welcome to Lamoni Farms C & H, LLC Owned by the Erwin Family. Maurice and his wife, Kim along with their children Andrew and MacKenzie raise primarily Angus cattle and commercial and Full Blood Boer Goats and operate an 1800 head hog barn their rolling pastures and timber filled land. Our farm is located on the Iowa/Missouri border just a few miles east of Interstate 35.

Maurice and his parents purchased Lamoni Farms, Inc in January, 2004 from the Snethen family. Since the purchase we have made some changes and kept some of the old tried and true ways. The first change was in the name, changing it to Lamoni Farms C & H, LLC (cattle and hogs). We invited Scott, one of the previous partners, to stay on to head up the cattle part of our operation. Brett joined us a few months ago and has been a welcome addition to our family here.

The hog operation has been managed by Pipestone Systems of Pipestone Veterinary Clinic, Pipestone, MN. Maurice and Kim worked for Pipestone Systems in MN since 1999 prior to moving to Lamoni. Maurice continues to supervise the operation on a daily basis. Chris has been the on-site manager since Dec. 2005 and has 3 other full time employees: Larry who has been with the farm for over 20 years, Joe who worked here during High School and tried out greener pastures with another company before coming back to our farm in 2006, Elmer has been with us since spring of 2005 when Kim had a car accident and was unable to work in the hog barn anymore, and a part time young lady, Laurie who will continue to work while going to Graceland University in the fall of 2007.

Maurice and Kim, along with the kids in the summer, help out whenever needed whether it be going into the hog barn in the heat of the summer at night and feed the sows, loading out fat hogs in the early morning hours, working cattle or chasing after parts for some piece of equipment that is broken down. We all are an important part of the farms daily operations.
